Smriti: I don’t know Sid….i thought you called her somewhere for a special surprise….
Sid: what the hell Smriti…..i had told you about my surprise, right?? Then how did you leave her?
Smriti: yeah Sid…you told me and I had made all arrangements as per your wish…..cake bhi order kiya tha…..but still I thought you are planning a double surprise…..sorry yaar…
Sid: ab sorry bolne se kya use??? Main kahaan jaa ke dhoondoonga usse…..ek min….[takes his phone and calls up Aashu]
Aashu: hi Sid….yeah, she was in college when she got your message….she said she needs to go immediately….i thought she was with you…..
Sid: accha accha….teek hai….i will do something….
Sid keeps the phone and is a bit worried…..
Sid: shit!!!where is she???? And who is with her??? [Both questions worrying him to the core
He walks to his room in anger while Smriti calls him from behind]
Smriti: iss cake ko kya karoom???
Sid: [irritated] laao….aur mere sar par daalo….
Smriti: arre wah…maine tumaare liye kya kuch nahi kiya….ab yeh bhi karthi hoom……aajaavo daalthi hoom….[grins]
[but Sid already goes inside shut his door with a bang]
[He is irritated even more when he sees the boquets lines up there…..he reads the note on the second one…..He gets all the more angry…..]
Sid: yeh kaun ho saktha hai??? mere biwi ke saath flirt kar raha hai!!!Wait till I get my hands on you….
[Without further thinking, he rushes downstairs…..Smriti is worried that he is tensed…..So she insists on accompanying him]
Smriti: Sid, tum bohat gusse mein ho…..i cant leave you alone…..I will come along…..
Sid: accha chalo…pool club chalthe hai….

Meanwhile at the pool club…..
Anjali opens her eyes hearing the voice…..She is startled since she knows that its not Sid…..She tries to come out of the hug but the clutch is too tight to come out….its Rohit who is hugging her tightly….
Rohit: [partially breaking from her but still holds her close...and turns her around]kya hua Anjali???
Anjali: tum???? [embarrassed totally….she tries to stabilize the situation]Maine
[Actually, Anjali thinks that Rohit arranged all this to bring Sid there too and also make him jealous, there by bring him closer to her…..she is not able to mistake Rohit even after that…..she is not able to think anything more that pure friendship from Rohit…..she trusts him completely….]
Rohit: [he is happy and thinks that Anjali finally understood his love…] Anything for you Anjali……
Anjali: [trying to free herself] i was damm scared when you said I love you…..yeh kuch zaada hogaya Rohit….woh dono kya sochenge??...[she grins innocently]
[Before Rohit says further and clarifies, Sid intervenes….Smriti is a bit taken aback by the closeness between Anjali and Rohit and she thinks “Anjali aisi kaise kar sakthi hai?? Poor Sid”]
Sid: [glaring at him like hell and sarcastic] arre yaar Rohit, mujhe bhi apni wife ko wish karne ki mauka dho….ya phir aise hi pakad rakhne ka iraadha hai….[mind voice: Rohit, tum kya karne ke koshish kar rahe ho, yeh main samaj gaya hoom….but dude, I wont let it happen…..back off from my wife right now…..]
[Though Anjali doesn’t acknowledge Sid’s arrival openly, within inside, she is happy to see him…..She just steps away from Rohit and smiles at Smriti]
Anjali: hi Smriti….
Smriti: hi….Happy b’day bhabhi…[a false smile and slight hug…..but Anjali hugs Smriti tightly and makes a funny face at Sid….nobody else notices it except Sid…Sid just smiles cheekily]
Sid: [freeing Anjali from the hug and pulls her towards himself strongly and hugs her tightly] mera wish bhi accept karlo wifey…..[whispers in her ears]Happy b’day tweety!!
Anjali: [mind voice: TWEETY!! Yeh kaisa naam hai??? ][surprised and rolls her eyes at him]

[He arranges for 2 more chairs around the table….A beautiful cake is also placed on the center table…..though Rohit is disappointed that his private moment has been disrupted, he doesn’t let that out….He plays the perfect host…..He orders their starters]
Sid: that cake is tempting….i guess we should cut it now,na??
Rohit: yeah yeah…..Anjali chalen…
Anjali: haan….chalo Smriti…..
[They gather around the cake….Smriti lights the candle….]
Sid:[trying to start a conversation] ek candle kaafi hai…..perfect for Anjali….abi bhi choti bacchi jaisi hai….kuch bhi nahi samaj thi!!![laughs out…Smriti laughs too…..Anjali glares at him while Rohit just smiles falsely]

Sid: kisi ko hasi aakhar bhi chupaaye tho hum kya Karen???[Intently looks at Anjali…..he notices her attire….his fav color….and that color suits her so perfectly!….she also looks at him….their eyes lock and Sid unknowingly says in a low voice] Beautiful!!
[For a moment, he forgets that Rohit and Smriti are there when he says that…..Anjali blushes at this comment…..her cheeks turn pink without her knowledge]
Smriti: arre yaar bas karo….hum dono yahaan hai…bhool math jaana….anjali dekho, tumaara cheeks kaise laal hogaye!!!! Romance akele mein karna…..not here!![She and Sid laugh….Anjali just blushes and bends her head down…..Rohit is irritated further at all this….]

[She blows off the candle and cuts the cake…while the others sing the b’day song…..she takes the first piece and is about to place it in Smriti’s mouth when she stops her…]
Smriti: pehle piece Sid ke liye…..[she turns Anjali’s hand towards Sid]

[Anjali places the cake in his mouth….He holds her hands and takes the piece in…..and without waiting, he picks a piece and puts it in her mouth……
They are back to their places…they order dinner and have a formal conversation….just to avoid the uncomfortable silence from setting in…..Rohit is in no mood to talk to anyone else but Anjali but he is forced to do it…..Sid and Anjali are meeting after 2 weeks time…but both don’t give up their attitude and show their eagerness for private space…..at times their eyes lock and one of them quickly turns away….]

Anjali: I think we should leave now…..it’s quite late……
Smriti: haan….mujhe bhi neend aa rahi hai
Rohit: Shall I drop you Anjali???
Sid: [rolling his eyes] Rohit….why are you taking more trouble??? waise bhi hum dono ek hi ghar jaa rahe hai na??? [pauses] tumne humaare liye itna kuch kiya….yahi kaafi hai………….ab main hoon na Anjali ke khayaal rakhne keliye…..tum thak gaye honge….ghar jaakar aaraam karo…..
Sid: [mind voice: Rohit, ab humaare zindagi se dhoor raho…..sirf Anjali hi nahi, uske khayaal bhi tumaare nahi hai…jitney jaldi tum yeh samjoge utni tumaare liye behthar hoga…..]
[Rohit brushes off Sid’s comment and looks at Anjali for her response]
Anjali: [innocently] yeah Rohit…I guess Sid is right….main Sid ke saath chali jaavungi….you go home….waise bhi humaare directions opposite hai….
Smriti: [sarcastically and having a hidden meaning in between her lines] Rohit, you understood what Anjali said, na????
Rohit just nods…..…Sid, Anjali and Smriti leave……Rohit quite pissed off with the evening hushes off to his car….
Rohit: [before starting the car][mind voice: shit!! Itna accha mauka tha…sab kuch spoil hogaya…..sab woh Sid ke wajeh se…..mera poora shaam aur mera plan bigaad kar diya!!!]
